In-Person Event (Dinner & Community Building 5:00-5:30 PM)
Join Adams 12 Five Star Schools for a workshop designed to empower parents and caregivers to navigate Artificial Intelligence alongside their children. This workshop is focused on partnership, learning, and future readiness, emphasizing that AI is a tool for support, not a replacement for families or teachers.
We will begin at 5:00 p.m. with dinner and community-building, followed by an introductory session. Participants will then join three concurrent breakout sessions to dive deeper into the topic of their choice.
Breakout Session Topics will include:
Foundations of AI: Understanding what AI is, how it works, and discussing the pros and cons of the technology.
AI in Adams 12: Learning how Adams 12 students use AI safely, including district guidance, approved tools, and family guardrails like the Family Traffic Light.
Supporting Learning at Home using AI: Practical tips for using AI for homework help, communication with staff (e.g., writing professional emails), organization (e.g., creating study schedules), and practicing with helpful sentence stems for parents.
